Rajinikanth may again skip any major political announcement, decision likely in January
Superstar Rajinikanth, who is expected to take the political plunge soon by announcing his plans, may not make any major announcement on Monday, said sources after his much-anticipated meeting with office bearers in Chennai.
Sources said although there will be no major announcement like it was being expected by many, a conclusive decision can be expected around January.
Monday’s meeting was more about Rajinikanth taking stock of Rajnikanth Makkal Mandaram, the political outfit he had announced years ago.
This comes even as doctors have advised Rajinikanth against taking the political plunge over health concerns.
The meeting with Rajini Makkal Mandram’s district secretaries on Monday was conducted at Rajinikanth’s Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Chennai.
A month earlier, Rajinikanth had said “at the right time, I will let the people know about my political stand after consulting the office-bearers of Rajini Makkal Mandram.”
Assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu during April-May 2021. On the agenda of Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated meeting, sources indicated that an announcement is expected following consultations since Rajinikanth had himself said that he would make his stand known after consulting Mandram’s office-bearers.
Rajinikanth had on October 29 said he has been advised against entering politics by doctors as he had undergone a kidney transplant in 2016 and also due to the coronavirus pandemic.
