Oscar-award winning composer AR Rahman took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of his daughter Khatija Rahman and Superstar Rajinikanth. Reportedly, the photo was taken during the filming of Rajinikanth’s blockbuster film, Padayappa, in 1999. Directed by KS Ravikumar, Padayappa released in April 1999 and became the highest-grossing film back then.
AR RAHMAN SHARES THROWBACK PHOTO WITH KHATIJA AND RAJINIKANTH
On November 20, AR Rahman took to Instagram to post an adorable photo of his daughter Khatija Rahman. In the photo, Rajinikanth can be seen hugging little Khatija from behind as they pose together for a photo. While Rajinikanth wore a white kurta, little Khatija can be seen wearing a blue dress.
Sharing the photo, AR Rahman wrote, “My little princess @khatija.rahman with Thalaivar ..Padayappa 1999 I guess (sic).”
Padayappa is one of Rajinikanth’s iconic films that released in 1999. The film featured Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Soundarya and Sivaji Ganesan in the lead roles. The songs and background music were composed by AR Rahman.
AR RAHMAN BUSY WITH ATRANGI RE
AR Rahman is now busy composing for his upcoming Bollywood film, Atrangi Re. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush in the lead roles. Recently, the team resumed the shooting of Atrangi Re in Madurai.
Dhanush took to Instagram to share a photo with AR Rahman. The Asuran actor recorded a song for Atrangi Re. Dhanush wrote, “Had a blast singing and chatting with our very own Isai puyal @arrahman sir. #atrangire @aanandlrai @saraalikhan95. (sic).”
Atrangi Re is a cross-cultural love story, directed by Aanand L Rai. The film also marks the director’s comeback in Bollywood after two years. Atrangi Re was slated to release on Valentine’s Day 2021. Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the film’s release has been postponed.
