Court summons Rajinikanth over controversial statement in Sterlite factory protest case

Superstar Rajinikanth has been in the news for making an entry in politics with his new political party. However, the ‘Thalaiva’ actor seems to be engulfed in a controversy as a court has reportedly summoned him over a controversial statement in the Sterlite factory protest case.

The case is related to the violence which took place in the year 2018 in Vedanta’s Sterlite factory in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. About 13 protesters were killed in this incident. Rajinikanth also gave a statement on this issue which has now become a problem for him. He has been ordered to appear in the court on January 19.

Even before this, he was ordered to appear in court but at that time, Rajinikanth had asked for an exemption for not appearing in the court citing lack of time.
