‘Darbar’ to ‘Kabali’: Reported budget of the last five films of Superstar Rajinikanth

Filmmakers are interested to do a film with Rajinikanth since they can get a higher amount than they invest. ‘Darbar’ was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, which includes the Rs 100 crore pay package of Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth played the role of a cop after many years and played a stylish role. But AR Murgadoss failed to use the magic of Rajinikanth, and the film received mixed reviews. ‘Darbar’ was also marked Rajinikanth’s reunion with Nayanthara after the blockbuster hit ‘Chandramukhi’ in 2005.
Rajinikanth joined hands with Karthik Subbaraj for the action-drama ‘Petta’, and the film was made on a budget of Rs 160 crore. Karthik Subbaraj brought back the Rajinikanth, which fans waited to see for a long time, and the film was a successful one at the box office. Rajinikanth played the role of a college professor, who has a hidden past. Simran and Trisha shared screen space with Rajinikanth for the first time in the film, and the film music was scored by Anirudh Ravichander.
After the biggest success of ‘Enthiran’, Rajinikanth and director Shankar teamed up for its sequel ‘2.0’.
