‘Enthiran’ story theft case: Court issues non-bailable warrant against director Shankar
Director Shankar’s ‘Enthiran‘ starring Superstar Rajinikanth was a massive hit, and the film also had a sequel in 2018. Writer Arur Tamilnadan has claimed that ‘Enthiran’ story was written by him, and filed a case against director Shankar in the Egmore court in Chennai. Now, Egmore Criminal Court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Shankar, who has not appeared before the court for more than 10 years in a story theft case.
The court had ordered Shankar and producer Kalanithi Maran to appear before the court in 2019. But both of them reportedly appealed against it. Writer Arur Tamilnadan has also asked for Rs 1 crore for patent infringement from the ‘Enthiran’ producer and director.
On the work front, Shankar is currently working on ‘Indian 2’ with Kamal Haasan, and the film has been delayed for a long time because of several obstacles. The film shooting is expected to be resumed soon, and the director will be shooting some portions without Kamal Haasan since the actor is busy with his political work.
