Karthik Subbaraj celebrates 2 years of Rajinikanth’s Petta, thanks fans for their love

Director Karthik Subbaraj, who is waiting for the release of Jagamae Thanthiram, took to Twitter to celebrate two years of his Tamil film, Petta. The film, which hit the screens in 2019, is one of the important films in Karthik’s career. Featuring Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film garnered good responses from both audiences as well as critics.

Today (January 10), Karthik Subbaraj took to social media to celebrate two years of his film’s release. Karthik penned a beautiful note recollecting the memories associated with the project and thanked fans for all the love. He also said that the film is very close to her heart.

Karthik Subbaraj wrote, “2 years ago this day gave the magical moments of Lifetime to all of us in the team…Thanks to the audience for all the love to #Petta #2YearsOfPetta @sunpictures @DOP_Tirru @anirudhofficial @sureshsrajan @vivekharshan @kunal_rajan @tuneyjohn @ParruuG (sic).”

Fans of Rajinikanth recollected their favourite scenes from the film. The hashtag #Petta was trending on the internet since morning.

Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Sasi Kumar, Simran and Trisha played important roles in Petta. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs for the film and the film was produced by Sun Pictures.


Meanwhile, Karthik Subbaraj is currently working on the pre-production work of his upcoming film with Chiyaan Vikram and his son Dhruv. He is also waiting for the release of Dhanush’s Jagamae Thanthiram. The film was supposed to hit the screens last year. However, the outbreak of the novel coronavirus affected the film’s release.

The film is tipped to be a gangster drama set in London. The film also features Game of Thrones actor James Cosmo, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sanchana Natrajan and Joju George in important roles. Cinematographer Shreyas Krishna and composer Santosh Narayanan form the technical crew
