Rajinikanth tests negative for COVID-19; seven crew members of Annaatthe set test positive

Superstar Rajinikanth tested negative for COVID-19 and reportedly returned to Chennai after crew members on his Annaathe set tested positive for COVID-19.

Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth, who recently made a political debut by announcing his plans to contest in the forthcoming elections, has tested negative for COVID-19. This, when seven crew members of his film tested positive for the virus. There has been no official confirmation from the actor or his team on the matter yet. 

Sun Pictures shared a statement on its Twitter handle saying that the shooting of Annaathe was halted after the crew members tested positive. “During routine testing at #Annaatthe shoot, 4 crew members have tested positive for Covid19. Superstar @rajinikanth and other crew members have tested negative. To ensure utmost safety #Annaatthe shooting has been postponed,” the tweet read.
