Yogi B shares his first meeting with Rajinikanth

It is Superstar Rajinikanth’s birthday today and wishes have been pouring in for the actor. From people in the film fraternity to celebrities and fans – social media is flooded with messages for namma Thalaivar. Many go an extra mile to write about Rajinikanth, too. Singer-rapper Yogi B, who recently sang ‘Thani Vazhi’ for Rajinikanth‘s ‘Darbar‘, took to his social media to share his first meeting with the superstar.
In his long post, he said how big a fan he was of the Superstar. “Since my teens I have watched Sar’s movies like the many thousands of Indians worldwide. On the cinema screens with live roars to the house TV with Amma-Appa, I have enjoyed his style, energy, heroism and smile. I was in Chennai this January to watch ‘Darbar’ and asked Anirudh Ravichander‘s team if it was possible to meet Sar. I’ve rapped in three of his films but never asked to meet him previously. It was a long shot, but I decided to try my luck. So blessed that Sar agreed to grant me a meeting,” said the singer.

Recalling the meeting with him, Yogi B added, “He walked in like your simple neighbour uncle but after he sat down, he had an aura of humble mountain. Like a king on a throne. He thanked me for rapping on his movies and my heart was filled with childlike joy. We spoke for a bit, about ‘Darbar’ and some life experiences. Still awestruck, Nithya and me were holding our screams in. Happy birthday Rajini sar. May the universe bless you for all the joy you have given us. Andrum Indrum Endrum Ore Superstar!”
