After Petta, Karthik Subbaraj to direct Rajini again?

Director Karthik Subbaraj came up with Petta in which audience could see a new-look and uber-stylish Superstar Rajinikanth.The film released in 2019. Now, Rajinikanth is working on his Annaatthe with director Siva and the film’s shooting was suspended following a few of the crew members testing positive for coronavirus. While Rajini was to announce his political entry, though he tested negative for the virus, he too fell ill with fluctuation in blood pressure and he had to be hospitalized. Following this, Rajini had to be hospitalized in December and later he abandoned the idea of launching his political party. The movie has completed 60 percent shooting and post-production work.
The makers have announced the release of Annaatthe and it will hit the screen on November 4.

In the meantime, it is said that Rajinikanth wants to make the most of his film career and is in no mood to slow down, despite age and health issues. If reports have to be believed, Karthik Subbaraj and Rajinikanth met during the lockdown and have sealed a project. Now, it is reported that Sun Pictures, too has given the nod and the project titled Thalaivar169 is expected to go on the floors by mid-2022. Earlier, the director had hinted that he may do a movie again with Rajini and the possibility of a sequel to Petta 2 cannot be dismissed with since he was getting a lot of request from fans and also some interesting storylines for the movie’s sequel.
Currently, Karthik Subbaraj is awaiting the release of his Jagame Thanthiram starring Dhanush and his next is with Vikram and Dhruv Vikram with music by Anirudh. He is expected to start working on Rajinikanth project after completing his film with Vikram.
