In politically sensitive Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan attend launch of MGR’s dream project Kizhakku Africavil Raju

CHENNAI: Actors-turned-politicians, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan were on Wednesday took part in the 101st birth anniversary celebrations of Tamil Nadu chief minister MG Ramachandran.

The two guests were present for the pooja launch of the late chief minister’s dream project Kizhakku Africavil Raju, a motion capture film. The film is being made by Prabhu Deva Studios in association with Vels Film International.

The late MGR had in 1970s announced an action-adventure film to be shot around the world, titled Kizhakku Africavil Raju. However, since the actor had taken a plunge int politics, he could not complete the film. 

On the 101 birth celebration of the star, the film is being revived.

The launch of the iconic project was held at the MGR’s Sathya Studio in Adyar.
