Rajinikanth’s 2.0: Did Shankar and Lyca Productions have a huge fight over the release date?

Rumours say that director Shankar and Lyca Productions had a major fight over the release of Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0.

Rajinikanth’s mega-budget film 2.0 with director Shankar is one of the most anticipated films of the year.

However, the team has been letting Rajini’s fans down by postponing the release multiple times.

Now, reports say that director Shankar and producers Lyca Productions had a major tussle over the delay of the film.

BollywoodLife quoted a source as saying, “Lyca Productions wanted the film to hit the screens in April. The constant delays have not gone down well with them, and as a result, they have incurred losses. Shankar wanted to give his best, and hence he did not want to compromise on the quality. This attitude of Shankar has rubbed Lyca the wrong way. They had a major fight over the release date, which has also halted the post-production work.”

It is said that Shankar and the makers have set aside their egos and have decided to work amicably so that they can release 2.0 later this year.

The film has been running into delays because of its pending VFX work which is being carried out in several studios across the globe. According to the latest reports, the makers are contemplating a release this Independence Day.

Starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, the film is made on a mammoth budget of Rs 400 crore.
