Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe: Grand sets to be erected in Chennai for film shooting
Superstar Rajinikanth was shooting for his upcoming film Annaatthe at Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad before the lockdown was imposed by the government to tackle the novel coronavirus pandemic. However, reports are rife that the shooting will shift from Hyderabad to Chennai due to multiple reasons. According to sources close to the team, the makers have now erected grand sets in Chennai for the film’s shoot.
Since it will be difficult for the entire team to head to Hyderabad for the shoot, the makers have decided to shoot the rest of the film in Chennai. An official confirmation on when the shooting would resume will be announced in the coming months.
Recently, there were rumours doing the rounds that Annaatthe has been dropped. However, A source close to the team told IndiaToday.in, “Those are fake news. Annaatthe is very much on. We are waiting for permission from the Tamil Nadu government so that we can decide on the film’s shooting.”
Earlier, reports suggested that Rajinikanth had instructed the team not to resume shooting immediately and requested the makers to hold on for a while till the number of positive coronavirus cases come down in the country.
Sun Pictures, the production house of Annaatthe, had announced that the film will release on Pongal 2021. However, due to the current situation, it looks like the rural entertainer will be postponed indefinitely.
Directed by Siruthai Siva, Annaatthe stars Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Khushbu, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj and Soori in important roles. Composer D Imman has been roped in to score the film’s tunes.
